Busy busy bees..

So, it occurred to me sometime yesterday that we were invited to a birthday party for a friend’s daughter…..which is happening now! I totally had not bought or made anything for her! I searched until about 2 this morning and then realized that even if I bought a pattern online it would not get to my email in time. So I gave in and went to bed. At least I knew what fabric I wanted to use.
So, G and I got up early because I had a doctors appointment. At least I thought I did. Yep, we get to the office only to find out the appointment was with a different doctor! Well, after rescheduling my appointment that I missed I figured I would be productive and go to our local fabric store and find a pattern, even if it killed me.
Armed with the iPad and the stroller we went in. It took me about an hour to get a tad bit of coordinating fabric and a pattern (or three).
We headed to our local extension building where I am a part of a scrapbook club. I cut the pattern and fabric and was going to was home when I was reminded that I could use the sewing machines there! BONUS!!! So my sewing marathon began!
Oh, yeah! I totally did not use the original fabric that I wanted to but used some really cute yellow and bumble bee fabric instead! It turned out sooo cute.

So now we are sitting at the birthday party and we are watching a movie. I can’t wait to see if she likes her present!

Keep your fingers crossed! I will update after the party.

UPDATE

So I am pretty sure she did not really like it. That is ok though. I kinda had a feeling she would not like the style of it once i was half way through putting it together. Plus, it is too big.

I made it the size i was told she is but it looks too long! Should have went with my gut. Lol! However, Her aunt loved it and wants a grown up version of it. So i will be modifying it to fit a woman.

I am still proud of it and I love it. I am going to make her a dress and either gift it to some other little girl or sell it.

’til next time,
Tonia
